If you have decided to accept Islam out of your free choice, then you can become a Muslim by believing and declaring the statement below. This process is called Shahadah (Declaration of faith in Islam) and is the first pillar of Islam.

Arabic Transliteration:

  1. ash hadu
  2. an laa ilaaha illa Allah
  3. wa ash hadu anna
  4. Muhammadan rasulu Allah

English Translation:

  1. I bear witness that
  2. There is none worthy of worship except Allah (The one true God)
  3. And I bear witness that
  4. Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the (final) messenger of Allah.
